Overview

Boke Stēosùmíhg was founded durring the late 15th century in winter of the year 1381, by Tsmëmesmë. The establishment of Boke Stēosùmíhg was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Tsmëmesmë struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Boke Stēosùmíhg as a prison colony.

Boke Stēosùmíhg was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Boke Stēosùmíhg is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Boke Stēosùmíhg is buildings are arranged arround a network of narrow flagstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The city rests behind a set of well fortified walls, with gatehouses, watch towers, and battlments. Boke Stēosùmíhg's walls are, howeaver, fashioned from stone and timber. While unorthadox, the design looks to be functional to a reasonable degree. With luck, the untested design will remain untested for years to come. Boke Stēosùmíhg's unusual yet seemingly effective fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Boke Stēosùmíhg is not quite well. Something happened here, perhapse recently, perhapse long ago. Whatever it was, it settled into the very soul of the city like a festering wound. The people go about their day well enough, but there’s a tention in the air you can cut with a knife. You get the terrible feeling that whatever it was, the wound it left will simply never heal. This city is as a necropolice.

Cultural Notes

The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.

Boke Stēosùmíhg's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

In Boke Stēosùmíhg hail is always enormous, yet harmlessly plinks off people, creatures, and structures.
